Background
I’m a Christian sculptor, painter, and creative writer born in Santa Fe, New Mexico and settled in Southern California.
My work in both writing and art seeks to invoke soft turnings — offering moments of gentle surprise and revelation by intersecting old ideas and new forms. I often draw my subjects from Christian tradition, and enjoy imagining them in alternative aesthetic contexts.
My current interests revolve around book arts, paratextual theory, Biblical womanhood, domesticity, nuclear technology, the Cold War, and American Christianity.
When I’m not writing or creating art, you can find me spinning fiber with a drop spindle, sewing vintage dresses, skiing local mountains, trying to understand William Blake, re-reading J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Silmarillion, or rummaging through the SoCal thrifting scene.
The Road goes ever on and on
J.R.R. Tolkien, “The Road Goes Ever On”
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way,
Where many paths and errands meet.
